Job Description

The Dinex Group, the restaurant group of Chef Daniel Boulud is searching for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant. A staff accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records working in collaboration with the Accounting, Payroll and Finance departments.

Key responsibilities

• General Ledger Management:   Maintaining accurate general ledger entries for all locations, ensuring proper categorization of transactions, and reconciling accounts.
• Bank Reconciliations:   Reconciling bank statements and cash registers for each location, ensuring all transactions are accounted for.
• Financial Reporting:   Preparing financial statements, profit and loss statements, and other reports for each restaurant and the overall business, aiding in performance analysis and decision-making.
• Compliance:   Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, reporting requirements, and other relevant financial regulations for the restaurant industry.
• Operational Support:   Potentially assisting with budget development, forecasting, and expense management to help improve profitability across the restaurants.  

Essential skills and qualifications

• Strong Accounting Foundation:   Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial statements, and accounting software (e.g., Restaurant 365).
• Restaurant Industry Knowledge:   Familiarity with the unique accounting nuances of the restaurant industry, including handling tips, inventory management, and POS system integration (toast/lightspeed).
• Detail-Oriented:   Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial records and reports.
• Analytical Skills:   Ability to analyze financial data.
• Communication Skills:   Effective communication to convey financial information clearly to both finance professionals and restaurant management.
• Bachelor's Degree: B achelor's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant Experience:   Often 2 or more years of accounting experience, with experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry a plus.
• Certifications:   Certifications like CPA ,a plus not required
